We support the minorities within the minorities

Free Hearts Free Minds provides free psychological support to freethinkers who are at risk of persecution or execution for what they believe or for who they love.   

Free Hearts refers to members of the LGBT community and
Free Minds refers to freethinkers who choose to renounce the religion they were born into.

As of 2021, in 12 Muslim Majority countries, leaving Islam is punishable by death.

What we do

We provide an online 8 week psychosocial support, , group and individual, program for ExMuslims all over the world.

Connection

ExMuslims must hide who they are to ensure their safety. They are completely alone and don't know who to trust.  These sessions are designed to gradually deepen connections, build trust, and form healthy relationships.

Education

ExMuslims are some of the most gaslit people on the planet. This program educates them on critical thinking, their psychology, and how it relates to their religious trauma. This validates their experiences and re-frames their self-criticisms and misperceptions.

Tools

In each session, they are given one or more practical tools to help them move through triggers and difficult experiences. This empowers them to continue their development after the program.

Program Overview
​

Identity

We begin to deconstruct how identity forms, why certain ideas are difficult to unlearn, and focus on practical ways to rebuild identity, so they can take control of who they are.

Core Beliefs

We examine how core beliefs are formed and go into more depth about how to deconstruct them and cement new beliefs that align with who they wish to be.

Strengths

​Here they learn how to identify their strengths, honour them, and how they can use them to solve problems.

Emotions

We uncover the relationship we have to our emotions, the nervous system response to trauma and practical ways to move through them in the moment.

Stress

We challenge everything we think we know about stress. This is a transformative session because it changes the relationship they have with their bodies.

Relationships

We identify toxic relationship dynamics and healthy relationship dynamics. Then explore how to create the dynamics they want.

Safety

In this session we help them prepare for the worst. Being able to plan and prepare for the future requires them to safeguard their present.

Reflection

We reflect on and celebrate the progress of the participants. To see how far they've come is incredible. Next steps to community resources, and further support are provided.
